From Business Idea to Success

ree

I’ll never forget the day I decided to start my first business.

Excitement buzzing, dreams flowing, motivation levels through the roof…

and at the same time;

Where do I even start?

I feel un educated?

What if I fail?

Maybe you’re there right now. You’ve trained or in training, you’ve got the passion, but the actual “business” side feels like a maze.

This is all normal feelings and I want you to know—it doesn’t have to.

With the right roadmap, you can take those steps with confidence.

Here’s the journey broken down into clear stages:

1. Training & Insurance

The foundation. Before you do anything else, make sure you’re fully trained, certified, and insured. This isn’t just protection for you—it’s peace of mind for your clients. You can most definitely begin building your business while you are going through training, ready to launch when you are qualified!

2. Decide Your Base

Ask yourself:

Do you want to be home-based (low cost, small business, create extra income, work around your life)?

Rent a room in a salon/clinic (built-in footfall, manage your own diary, a place your clients can come, less responsibility then owning a full clinic)?

Or own your own clinic (biggest opportunity, a chance to build an ‘empire’ but also biggest responsibility)?

There’s no “right” choice—only the one that fits your lifestyle and long-term vision.

I have seen many people succeed, including myself in all of these areas.

3. Build Your Treatment Menu

Don’t make the mistake of offering everything. Start with a carefully chosen menu that reflects your expertise and your ideal client’s needs. (Tip: quality and clarity beat quantity every time!)

You are better off starting with less and giving more, building a brand that clients know you for. Then trying to be too much.

4. Pricing

This is where many get stuck. Undercharging might feel safe, but it leads to burnout.

Many of my clients here me say ‘Get your diaries empty’. It is not about being fully booked all the time. It is about how little you work but make the most income?

Price based on:

Your costs

Your expertise (tip- I would not recommend doing a ‘beginner price’, you are undervaluing yourself and will be harder to put your prices up).

The value of transformation you provide

Competitors pricing

How much profit you would like to make on each treatment

5. Marketing & Visibility

“If you build it, they will come” only works in movies. You need a plan to get your business in front of the right eyes.

REMINDER! Sales is not marketing and marketing is not sales. This is two difference skills and focuses in themselves.

This means:

Social media presence (done authentically)

Local networking & collaborations

Reviews, referrals, and word-of-mouth

How you get infront of the right people

How you convert your clients from seeing you ‘marketing’ to them becoming a client ‘sales’.

How can you stay consistent at your marketing.

The most powerful marketing in this industry is word of mouth! Get infront of as many of the right eyes as much … they will build the business for you.

6. Retention: Keep Clients Coming Back

It’s not just about getting clients, but keeping them. Think loyalty programs, treatment plans, and ongoing packages to create recurring revenue. (Remember—clients love consistency, just as much as your business does!)

7. Your Level of Commitment

This one’s important. Ask yourself: How much am I really willing to put in?

Your business will grow in direct proportion to your energy, consistency, organisation and resilience.

And getting out of your comfort zone!!

Don’t worry—you don’t need to have it all figured out on day one. What matters is that you keep showing up.

Other Considerations

 Setting boundaries (to avoid burnout)

 Managing finances from the start

Scheduling time for your own personal development, not just performing treatments

Remembering why you started—so the passion stays alive even on hard days

Working on the business is just as important as working in it.

You MUST be prepared to fail and be humbled. Business life is not easy and it is not a short term fix. But it is rewarding and can create the lifestyle you have always wanted.

Here’s the Truth

Launching your business isn’t about doing everything at once. It’s about taking the right steps in the right order. With structure, clarity, and guidance, what feels overwhelming now can become exciting momentum.
