I hope you are all well and having the most beautiful summer. We have been a little quiet over here recently because I have been navigating through my first pregnancy! Ekkk. Almost half way and what a wild ride it has been.
In this post today, I will be giving all the things I have learnt so far business a business owner while being pregnant… Over the last year and a half I have been learning through the process of becoming a step mum to a son we have full time, going through pregnancy and becoming a mum for the first time. While also running 3 businesses and keeping myself and independence through this. If this is something you would find of interest and you resonate with. Please feel free to reach out and I will create more content on this. It's been quite the adventure!
Things I have learnt so far being a business owner & going through pregnancy:
-Every person and pregnancy is so different and unique to the individual. Both physically and mentally. Even every day for yourself can be so different. It’s important to ride the wave and sit with what you are thinking and feeling that day. Take advice from others which you feel fit and resonate with you, and try not to over think what doesn’t fit.
- Going through pregnancy really shows you people’s true colours. You really do learn the ones that care and show up. (Feeling gratitude and sending lots of love to my people)
-Work life DOES NOT need to stop when pregnant. I was worried about people finding out incase I lost clients or people saw me different. If anything, people can resonate more. I have always been motivated but the fire in my belly to achieve all the success and goals iv ever made for myself is stronger than ever before. I haven’t taken my foot off the pedal, iv pressed accelerate…. And only others will benefit from this.
-Life doesn’t stop, you just adapt. Life is only just beginning.
-Worries and confusion are complelty normal. Whether it be to do with the health of the baby, what you are or not doing or thinking about the future. It’s all so new and unknown.
-Journalling and meditation has been an amazing way of taking me through all the process and phases in everything that is going on with my life.
-Moving your body is so important for your mind, the body and the baby. -The first trimester can feel so lonely. No matter how many amazing people in your life. It’s your thoughts and your body. You are the only true person who is seeing and feeling these changes. -Planning ahead and future proofing your business is key for you and clients.
-Listen to what your body wants and needs. If you need to rest, rest. If you need to disconnect from the world, disconnect. If you crave connection, connect with nature and others. If you have energy, embrace it.
-Pregnancy is the PERFECT time to be selfish and focus on yourself. This is the time to go inwards. Look after your mind, look after your body, do the work on yourself, learn, declutter what no longer serves.
